Studio Naenna is a company devoted to working with traditional techniques adapted to create modern designs and colours. The studio brings together weavers, embroiderers and sewers from various ethnic backgrounds to create high quality environmentally friendly and sustainable products. These products encourage pride in traditional techniques and empower women within their communities. Located at the base of Doi Suthep mountain in Chiang Mai Thailand, the main gallery is busy with activity, yarns are being dyed, a Karen hilltribe weaver is creating unique wall hangings on her back-strap loom, and Hmong embroiderers are bringing in their embroidered panels that have been worked on for many weeks.
